I’m shady as hell. I said I would post everyday. But I don’t. I’m such a lazy cow. . I’ll be glad to do a recap of my week so far though :)
Since I’ve started school last Tuesday I’ve learned mad things. Cut straight hair, layered hair, blow dry (I’m not good.), curl, French braid and for the mother effing win: CORNROWS. Not too shabby for a week’s worth of learning. I’ve practiced not only on manikins but on my friends here as well. Overall I’m having a blast and walking the streets of New York never gets old or boring. I walk down 5th ave everyday. It’s handsdown amazing.
I heard that the East Coast will have one of the coldest winters and will have the worst snow/rain storm this 2OO9. Great. First winter time here and mother nature will be giving me a hard time. Crazy bitch. But it’ll be a ball.
The yankees are making me happy. A-Rod and Mark are cute. And jap boy tickles my fancy.
PS who else enjoyed manny pacquiao on Jimmy Kimmel? Love it.

Good morrow, y’all! I am genuinely sorry I haven’t been posting. I’ve been busy.. watching movies on demand. Alright. I have no excuse. Except for: I’ve been trying to settle in? Haha. My sincere apologies.
Tomorrow will be the first day of school. YAY! It’s been a long ass summer. I’m ready for this. I can’t wait to see how school is (especially being in the city. that’s insane!). I missed this feeling. You know, wanting to look great for the first day of school. Thinking of the perfect outfit, having your hair look perfect, etc. This shit’s exciting. I’ll def take a picture. But don’t be surprised. We can wear anything we want but there’s a twist.. It has to be all white. The world’s most unflattering color!!! Not to worry. I will still try to be as fashionable as possible. There are ways, there are ways.

SO. I’m sad. I’m sitting on this cold, hard.. wooden.. CHAIR. in front of my family desktop for the last time. (until i go back to cali from school, of course. but still. that’s a long time from now..) I’ll be on a plane to EWR in less than 24 hours. It still has not hit me. I should be REALLY excited, right? Wrong! I think what makes this harder is the fact that I don’t know exactly when I’ll be back. The million dollar question is, when will i see my family again? My school doesn’t have “breaks”. We have like 7 days off the whole school year. Literally. So it’s sketch to go home Christmas time :[ Christmas is so important to me. And I strongly believe it is family time. Air fare tickets being $500+ doesn’t help either. I am basically screwed. (At this time, I’ll be taking donations for the ‘Leana home for Christmas foundation’.)
This blog is not completely a vent sesh. I also would like to remember how I am NOW. I heard that people can change when they’re in a new city for a long period of time. I only hope to change for the better. and none of that new york city bitch-attitude-crap. I like my spunky, energetic, sweet, honest, fun, caring, self. And if I change, I give someone permission to slap me back to how I was on this Tuesday, October 13th, 2009.
I can’t say I’m totally miserable. NYC is the city of dreams. It’s the city of MY dreams. I am excited. This is whole experience is really exciting, not to mention life-changing. I have the opportunity of a lifetime. And I’ve been praying to God for this position, and I finally got it. So thank you, God. And thank you to my parents and everyone else who helped out to push start my school career. I won’t let you guys down. And this is only the beginning. Wait till I graduate ;)
I guess I’ll be home for Christmas..If only in my dreams.
